About me
Amandajean (Aj) Freking Nolte earned a BA in Communication/Theatre Arts Education (2005) and a MA (2007) in Communication Studies from the University of Northern Iowa. After almost ten years as a Communication Studies instructor and a peer theatre troupe director, she juggled work, family, and school to earn her MA in Library and Information Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2018). A creature of habit, she is currently back at UNI, serving as the arts and humanities librarian and assistant professor at Rod Library. She served as the 2022 ILA/ACRL President. Outside of work, she profoundly enjoys chauffeuring her two kids, walking her golden retriever (Bea Arthur), reading detective fiction, and rewatching Abbott Elementary.
